“I’m exchanging one homemade chocolate chip cookie for an informal conversation with a stranger. The only documentation of the interaction is a photograph and immediate written reflections on how the stranger influenced the other strangers’ thoughts. This is an experiment in human learning, human values, and human exchange.”
– Meredith Degyansky, Artist – NYC
Conceived as an art experiment within the People Building Better Cities exhibition, Meredith explored its inherent themes of ‘Communication’, ‘Dialog’, ‘Participation’ and ‘Reflection’.
Talking to students, teachers, visitors, and the college staff, Meredith exchanged and compared stories of urban life, and aspirations – both urban and personal, in Chennai and New York.
